I was born in El Paso Texas and have
lived within the western region of the
state of Texas all of my life. I began
my studies in art at Odessa College and
finished my Bachelor of Fine Arts in
studio art at Texas Tech University. A
decade later I returned to Texas Tech to
complete a Master of Art Education. I
have been an art instructor in public
schools since 1997 all while continuing
my journey as a studio artist. My work
is autobiographical, a journey within.
It is an exploration of my fears,
freedoms, liberations, entrapments,
joys, heartbreaks, and setbacks. I
explore my relationships with others and
the impressions that they leave upon my
internal being, my eternal being, as
well as my soul. I use a variety of
media depending upon which will best
tell my story: Acrylic paint, airbrush,
drawing, black & white photography, and
clay. My art includes several bodies of
work that I feel are interconnected.
Very much like our lives are
interrelated. These works of art are my
life’s impressions. |
